This popular Canmore restaurant and bar features a pub-style menu that offers pan-Canadian and southern BBQ favourites. All dishes are made in-house from scratch; staff accommodate special diets. There is a big selection of craft beers and an open-to-view wine cellar. Visit the website for reservations.

Atmosphere

The impressive multi-level, timber-frame Iron Goat Pub & Grill features two-storey windows, a large terraced south-facing patio and a west-facing deck on the upper floor. Stunning mountain vistas that feature the iconic Three Sisters may be the most striking of all local restaurants. The Iron Goat’s décor includes images and artifacts that honour Canmore’s railway and mining heritage.

Brunch

Served Saturday and Sunday 10 am until 2 pm:

  • Classic Breakfast: two eggs served with bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, hashbrowns and toast
  • Mountain Breakfast: three eggs, bacon and sausage, fresh fruit, hashbrowns and toast
  • Breakfast Poutine: hashbrowns, bacon or sausage, two eggs, smoked goat cheese, hollandaise; add pulled pork, brisket or pulled duck confit
  • Eggs Benny: poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, English muffin with choice of bacon, confit duck, smashed avocado or smoked brisket

Dinner

  • Chef-inspired daily lunch feature ($15 to $20)
  • Appetizers: Nachos; Chipotle Mango Duck Wings; Corn Bread Skillet; Game French Onion Soup; Ahi Tuna Wonton Nachos; Buffalo Fried Chicken; Brown Ale Dry Ribs; Bruschetta; Side Rib Stack
  • Salads: Spinach and Goat Cheese; Sweet Potato; Coconut Shrimp; Cobb
  • Stone Oven Pizzas: Chicken and Goat Cheese; True Canadian for meat lovers; Margherita
  • Steaks: 10 oz New York Stiploin; 10 oz Ribeye with smoked bourbon butter and sautéed mushrooms
  • Flat Iron Steak Sandwich: 6 oz, roasted garlic aioli, caramelized onion, smoked goat cheese, balsamic reduction
  • Cold Smoked Ahi Tuna Steak: sesame seed crusted tuna, ponzu, charred pineapple salsa, quinoa salad, chef’s veg
  • Blacked Salmon: citrus dill butter, roasted potatoes, chef’s veg
  • Fish and Chips: beer battered Atlantic haddock, hand cut fries, and coleslaw
  • Alberta Game Meatloaf: bison, elk and lamb served with mashed potatoes
  • Game Burger: bison, elk and blueberry patty, pepper jack cheese, brioche bun
  • Baby Back Ribs: sweet potato fries, cornbread, house slaw, choose from Iron Goat BBQ or Smoky BBQ
  • Duck & Bacon Ragu: slow braised duck leg, double smoked bacon, marinara, fettuccine, caramelized onions, smoked goat cheese
  • Dessert: Full Avalanche: mini doughnuts, cinnamon sugar, maple syrup, whipped cream; White Chocolate and Irish Cream Cheesecake; Citrus Chill; Cream Puff; Campfire S’more Cake
