The diversity of Chinese cooking is reflected in the Szechuan saying, “One dish, one shape; hundreds of dishes, hundreds of tastes.” At Canmore’s Famous Chinese Restaurant, experience the flavours of Szechuan and Peking cooking. Patrons are treated to friendly service and generous portions of expertly seasoned and beautifully presented cuisine including gluten-free dishes. Large parties are welcome. Take-out, all-day delivery and catering are available. Try the chef’s daily special, plus unique dishes made just for you on request.

Atmosphere

Guests enjoy the ambience of this charming converted log home with oak wainscotting, Chinese art, a first floor fireplace and whimsical tree trunk table tops.

  • Appetizers: vegetarian spring rolls; mu shu wraps; grilled pork dumplings (made fresh daily); honey garlic wings or spare ribs; eggroll with pork
  • Szechuan Style Fried Rice: chicken, barbecue pork, shrimp, eggs, green beans
  • San Shen Sizzling Rice: choice of chicken, shrimp, squid and vegetables
  • Noodles: spicy Szechuan, vegetable (Shanghai or skinny noodles), San Shen (with Chinese greens), chow mein, Singapore and Hong Kong styles
  • Vegetarian Dishes: Buddha’s delight (stir fried vegetables, choice of sauce); pan fried snow peas and broccoli in garlic sauce; braised bean curd with mushrooms and oyster sauce; mixed vegetable fried rice
  • Seafood: sizzling shrimp with mushrooms in spicy black bean sauce; homestyle fish filet in yellow bean sauce; lemon shrimp (deep or stir fried); chili and cashew shrimp; seafood delight (stir fried shrimp, squid and vegetables); palace style shrimp (drop or deep fried; onion, peppers, sweet and sour sauce)
  • Beef, Ginger and Green Onion Hot Pot; Szechuan Eggplant (with minced pork)
  • Salt and Pepper Squid, Shrimp, Fish or Pork Ribs
  • Ginger Fried Beef, Shrimp or Squid: sweet, sour and spicy, a flavourful classic
  • Spicy Mongolian Chicken: onion, green peppers and a light curry sauce
